Ah, the memories of Trick-or-Treating as a child. We had some fun times, and some scary and hilarious costumes over the years.
We didn’t even bother with candy this year. We haven’t got a single Trick-or-Treater for several years running now. Our street is mostly retired folks or people in High School. No kiddos to speak of. Also, they whack out the day for Trick-or-Treating every single year. Funny, when I was growing up, it was on… umm… HALLOWEEN. Not on Oct. 30th, or whatever. Since when does the city have the authority to set the time for celebration of a NATIONAL holiday? It’s like them telling you to celebrate Christmas 4 days early or late.
Trick-or-Treat hours for my area were originally listed from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM Today. Then, before the hurricane, they did an update and changed it to Saturday. That’s right… Nov fricking 3rd. Who Trick-or-Treats in NOVEMBER?!?
Now the question is, that since our area was unscathed by Sandy, which day is it? Today or Saturday?
Both. And that’s because half of the people won’t see the update and will bring their kids out today. The other half will be bringing their kids out on Nov 3rd and will expect you to have candy left.
I swear to God, the government could fuck up a bowl of cold cereal. (And since it’s Halloween, you can pick Booberry, Count Chocula, or Frankenberry!)
Anyway, I leave you with a pic of my lap minion. Who, as you can see, is very pumped up that it’s Halloween! 😉
